The Holidays

This is usually my least favorite part of the year.
Thanksgiving, my birthday and then Christmas all at once, and it makes me crazy.
I spent Thanksgiving with Barb and her family down in Yelm. It was entertaining and I had a good time.
This was the first time I had met her father so I was a little nervous at first but things were easy after the first 10 minutes. I had already spent time with her mother and brother so I felt pretty good.
Turkey disaster hit, and we did not eat until 6:30pm but still a great time.
Gearing up for my 41st birthday, which is not a big deal to me. Barb says the girls want to make me dinner and that would be nice. Not sure if we are going to do a family thing or not, I am leaving that up to mom and Barb.
Christmas shopping is always a pain in the ass for me. This year the boys are just getting cold hard cash from me. Now I am just trying to figure out the rest of the gifts so I can be done!
I put lights up in the house this past weekend to surprise Alex when he arrived Monday morning. He was thrilled and now tells me that we need to get a tree every morning. This will continue until I actually put a tree up. He has even picked out a spot for the tree.
This will be the first year that he really gets into Christmas, so I want to make it special for him. Even more so now that Toni and I are in the process of divorce.
Speaking of the divorce… I have the paperwork ready to go. We are meeting this weekend to go over the initial filing paperwork. She will get a copy and then we sign and submit to get the process going.
After that comes the fun part of deciding who gets and pays what. Not looking forward to that but it is part of the process so I need to just grab on and get it done.
I have a four day weekend coming up and plan to get a lot done around the house. I need to finish Alexanders room and then clear his area upstairs to make room for my things. Looking forward to completing that project.
