A Few Things

Posted on May 14, 2009 - Filed Under Baby Life, Flu Sucks, Games, Geek, Humor, Stinker, Tacoma, Year Two

I have had some variant of the flu for the past 4 days.  It is not swine flu, but flu flu.

Alexander has been kind of crusty the past week so I assume I got it from him.  Toddlers are super resistant to everything except pooping and bedtime.

Lots of folks have been out at work, I’m guessing they have the same crap I am suffering with.

I am attempting to overcome the virus with a diet of soda and cold pizza for lunch.  I intend on shocking my system back to normal.  If that does not work, I guess I will head to a doc-in-a-box and get something to help me breathe a little better.

Travis has not been sick.  In fact he seems fine even though he walks to and from school wearing shorts, in the rain.  If anyone should be getting a cough and sick, it should be him.  I guess his teenager genes are resistant to everything except homework and homework.

Toni is fine.  She never gets sick.  Perhaps she is the source?  Typhoid Toni?

Alex has kicked into super talking mode.  He is just about done with speech thereapy.  We are now working on getting him started with pre-school.  That terrifies me.   Along with pre-school comes a little bit of sensory development issues.  The sensory thing is being addressed.

All of the speech and sensory stuff has been handled by Pierce County and the Tacoma School District, for free.   Personally, I have always hated the way the Tacoma School District does things, but this is one of the things I cannot complain about.  All of the service providers have been great and we are thankful.

Mothers Day came and went.  Mom and Flower came to our house and we spent the afternoon playing Wii bowling.  My aunt is damn good, and I am pretty sure this is the first time in my life that someone older than me has beat me at a video game.  I am going to officially retire and turn in my video game card.

What can only be described as the definition of “mad with power” is my Aunt actually talking *smack* while playing Wii bowling.  Seriously, it was terrible and there was nothing I could do to counter it.

I started playing World of Warcraft again.  I am so weak.  After three years of not playing I fired up the 10-day trial and… hooked.

I tend to hang on the Khaz Modan server most of the time.  Drop me a note if any of you are playing.
