Alex And Paradise City

Posted on January 26, 2009 - Filed Under General

Alex found a new song to obsess over.   Paradise City by Guns n Roses.

I have a game for the Playstation 3 called Burnout Paradise.   It’s a driving game, with cool cars that drive fast allowing you to perform stunts and races on or offline.  The fictional city is named “Paradise City” and the theme song is… well you already know that.

I fired up the game for the first time last week and the theme kicked in.  Alex froze.  He started to sway, almost hypnotized by the song coming from the game.  When the song stopped, he was angry and asked for more.

I’ve now added it to his Playskool Made for me Mp3 player.

So here are his faves so far:

He also has a collection of kids songs from Wonder Pets and a few others but right now he really digs his “adult” music.  Wonder where it will take him or if it’s just something he is into right now.

That is awesome that he digs Radiohead already. I love Hail to the Thief. Its sweet to see it take over the youth!

The funny thing is that I have the Baby Rock CD of Radiohead. It’s Radiohead done as “kid music” and it’s very soothing.

Sounds just like the originals most of the time, just different and softer instruments. Started him early on that one. I made a CD for his crib that ran for 30-40 minutes so he had something to fall asleep to.

It has the baby versions of Sail to the Moon, No Surprises, Subterranean Homesick Alien and a few others. It moves on to some Louis Armstrong and some of his normal kid music.

When he hears the real versions of Radiohead he recognizes it now. Pretty neat. He really is a great kid and music is really important to him right now so I try to feed his music needs as much as I can.
