Dear Snow, Go Away
Posted on December 23, 2008 - Filed Under General
We have been dealing with snow since last Wednesday in the Seattle-Tacoma area and I am tired of it.
This would be awesome if I were 15 again, but I am not. I am 40 and have a job 20 miles away. When I don’t work, I don’t get paid. When it snows and leaves a crapload of ice on the roads, I don’t drive in to work and sadly, do not have remote access to my office yet.
That means 4 days total of no work since last week and a big fat hole in my next paycheck.
We are not known for heavy snowfall in my area. We get a decent blast every 5 years or so but nothing like our current situation.
Because we don’t get snow on a regular basis, people in my area have no idea how to drive in it. Watching people skid past my house is our new family pastime. Grab some popcorn and watch them slip and slide into each other.

This was the first time Alex really got an idea of what snow is. It was kind of funny. Toni bundled him up like Ralphies little brother from “A Christmas Story” and we got him outside. The snow was up to his knees and he was a little frustrated by it at first.
‘UP!!!” he cried after a few minutes of trying to wade through the snow, and into my arms he went while I carried him back into the house. Not quite ready to enjoy it just yet.

My nephew’s daughter (will be 3 on 2/28) LOVES snow and has been screaming to go outside since last Wednesday!
