Smelly Smell And Talking

Posted on September 16, 2008 - Filed Under Baby Life, Life, Parenting, Year One

Alex smells funny.

When he wakes up from a nap or in the morning he has a “sour milk” smell.  I assume it’s baby body odor.  Either way, it’s kind of funky.  We are going to ask the doctor about it during his next appointment.

We are not the only ones to notice this.

So there you go, my kid stinks.

Alex is finally trying to speak real words.

He has been into baby bable for a long time but his vocabulary has been limited up to this point.  This week he has been really trying to hard to say words that we use every day.  Dad, Da Da, Daddy, Mom are all becoming much clearer now.

“Uh oh” is new and funny.

Alex is also shrugging his shoulders when he “doesn’t know” what we are asking him.  It caught me off guard the first time because I thought there was no way he understood what that meant.   Then he kept doing it, and at the right times during our conversations.

As he nears the “terrible twos” I am excited and sad at the same time.  He’s growing faster than I want him to grow.
