Summer Updates

Posted on July 23, 2008 - Filed Under Baby Life, Baseball, Parenting, Rainiers, Tacoma, Year One

Spent last weekend watching the Rinaiers again.  Sunday was “Mascot Day” so there were mascots from different teams running around the stadium.  See the Smokey the Bear post below?  Smokey couldn’t keep his pants or costume on (turns out Smokey was she), and actually lost the bottom half of the costume running around the bases.

We were entertained by a bird that perched on the wire holding the backstop screen in place.  The bird must have sat in the same spot, facing the game, for at least an inning or two.  Not sure if it was watching the game or not.

We have been trying to bring Alex into crowds more, with mixed results.  Friday night we tried to get him to a Rainiers game but he freaked out an inning into the game.  It was late and past his bed time so I don’t blame him.

Saturday we took him around town as we shopped for a new BBQ.   He made it through the day without a nap and he lasted well into the night.  All of that while being in a good mode.  A record for us.

Travis is spending most of his time at his dad’s right now.  You can always tell when Travis is home because the phone rings 10000 times a day, with a different girl calling every time.

Some cool comments recently.  One from an operation manager from Baby Banz requesting a photo of Alex for their Banz Fanz page.  We’re working on a getting a photo for them.

Also see lots of traffic coming to the site from Google about the Honda CR-V MPG tests that I have been working on. I guess the topic of saving money on gas is pretty important right now. ;)

Alex was also asked to join the gallery for this news article on NowPublic.
