Holiday Weekend

We enjoyed the holiday weekend, just upset that it seems to have come and gone so quickly.
Thursday night we watched the Rainiers lose to the Sky Sox for the July 3rd “Extravaganza” game. When the game was over the Rainiers let everyone on to the field for an after game fireworks show. It had been a month since our last game and we had a great time.
Toni got Tug Huletts autograph on a hat and program before the game. Tug was telling us about a lady that brings the Rainiers team cookies before each home game and how much they enjoy it. I thought it was kind of funny that there is a lady spending time to bake cookies for the local AAA team.
Friday the 4th was spent in my mothers neighborhood for a block party. The streets were blocked off and cars moved out of the way so tables and chairs could take their place. The entire street was filled with toys for all of the children. Alexander had a great time playing with the other kids and learning how to be social.
We were happy to see Alex getting better with large crowds of people. The last time he was in a crowd this large was Fathers Day at the Pt. Defiance Zoo and that didn’t go so well.
It looked like he actually made a friend. He was following a little girl around most of the day and enjoyed sharing chalk with her as they colored in the street. He lasted a solid four hours before it started to wear on him and he was ready to go. We enjoyed watching him interact and had a fun time.
Travis spent time out of town camping at the ocean with his dad. I don’t think we are going to see Travis much this summer. :)
I spent the rest of the weekend trying to catch upon sleep from the previous two weeks of 24/7 on call work related stuff. Still feeling a little burnt out but should recover in a day or two.
