Congrats NBA Rookie Of The Year, Kevin Durant!

Kevin Durant from our very own Seattle Sonics was awarded the NBA Rookie of the Year today… and the ceremony happened to be in the parking lot of my office!
I work for T-Mobile and we have a partnership with the NBA that includes a million things to do with the NBA and NBA rookies.
The parking lot at our office was turned into a stage this morning, with media folks everywhere and a lot of T-Mobile employees on hand to watch Kevin get his award. Pretty cool to see the award go to a Sonic, and nice to see a bit of history up close.
Here’s a crappy photo I took of Kevin walking down the lane on his way to the stage. It was taken with my Blackberry so not the best quality but it’s better than nothing. :)

This guy is TALL! And I am sure his shoes are special order. What a great experience. I think the picture is great.
Yeah he is listed as 6′9 but he sure looked taller than that up close.
He was very humble in his speech, thanking the fans for coming out int he cold weather to see him and thanking the team and his family. Nice to see a young guy be so respectful given his age and the position he is in. I’d have lost my mind if I were 19, an NBA star and had a ton of money.
