Baby Babble

Posted on April 17, 2008 - Filed Under Baby Life, Life, Year One

Alexander is talking non-stop.  I don’t know what happened this past week but something triggered in his brain and he is in full blown baby babble mode right now.

His current vocabulary is:

He says a million other things but I have no clue what he means.  The interesting thing to me is that he understands what we are saying to him.  I guess he is doing better than us when it comes to that.

He is very good at using his actions to communicate what he wants to tell us.  Last night I put him in his chair for dinner while Nana was at the house.  I brought his food to the chair and he flipped out, shaking his head no and looking at Nana, then pointing to the spot next to him.  It took me a minute to figure it out but the end result was that he wanted Nana to sit next to him and help feed him.  Very cool to watch him evolve this way.

Alex is going to be an outside kid, no doubt about it.  He loves walking and just being outside and he will go for a walk until he literally drops from exhaustion.  I look forward to the weather kicking into spring/summer mode around here so I can take him to places like Pt. Defiance or to a nice park to just let him loose so he can discover things.

This is the part of fatherhood that I really enjoy, and I wish I could keep things like this forever.
