Jericho Nuked Again

Posted on March 24, 2008 - Filed Under Jericho

Looks like Jericho has been canceled again.

Trying to come back during a writers strike, with limited episodes and a late time slot was an uphill battle to begin with.

I’m disappointed by not surprised that it’s going away given the fact that the number of viewers is down to 6 million (which does not include the number of folks watching online or viewing via DVR like me).  With the emergence of online viewing via the network sites, or sites like www.hulu.com, the ratings system needs an overhaul so it picks up users like me or we’ll end up watching more shows bite the dust prematurely.

CBS, and TV programming in general, has really been dull the past few years with the insane number of reality programs on the air.  I originally enjoyed shows like Survivor and Big Brother, but I have a difficult time watching them now.  I want original and interesting TV with networks willing to take a chance to let a show develop.

I give CBS credit for bringing Jericho back for another season, but this probably ends my days of watching anything else on their network now that it has been canceled.
