The Dangerous Book for Boys

Posted on February 20, 2008 - Filed Under General, Holiday, Life

For Valentines day, Toni purchased the best book I’ve come across in a long time.  The Dangerous Book for Boys by Conn and Hal Iggulden.

This is the one book I wish I’d had growing up because it really hits home with stuff every boy should know.  How to tie the best five knots, how to identify insects and spiders, how to build a tree house, water bomb and much more.  The book includes chapters on the greatest battles every fought, sprinkled with facts and just short enough to keep people with a short attention span happy.

Learn how to palm a coin, tan a skin or wrap a package in plain brown paper.  How to write with invisible ink, place a splint or manage basic first aid, learn the Navajo code spoken by the code talkers during WWII.   There’s even a section about girls.

The official web site for the book gives you the ability to download and print badges that can be earned by completing different sections of the book, a nice touch.

This is the best gift a mother can give a father to share with his sons and I can’t recommend it enough.
