Snarling, Loud and Quiet and Vampire Baby

Posted on February 12, 2008 - Filed Under Baby Life, General, Life, Year One

Alex learned how to snarl.  I did NOT teach him how to do this so it was either Travis or Toni.  Alex was sitting on my lap yesterday and was upset with me because I didn’t want him to jump up and down on my while I was working.  I held him still and that’s when the snarling started.  He looked me dead in the eyes, squinted a bit and growled.  Nice.

Here is a photo of Alex from the Western Washington Fair back in September.

Alex loves books and will read them (meaning we read them to him) non-stop.  His bedtime routine is to have a bath, read books for 15-30 minutes and then hit the sack.

Toni picked up new books today including one that teaches LOUD and quiet.  When excited, Alex tends to scream really loud and it has carried over to just plain screaming for no reason.  We are trying to teach him the difference.

Alex finally learned that moving his face up and down means “yes”.  He’s known “no” for a long time so it’s a relief that he understands yes now.  Makes it easier to communicate with him.

Here is a photo of Travis when he was around 1 1/2 to 2 years old.  He is eating a frozen chocolate bar but… doesn’t it look like he has blood around his lips, dripping down his chest?  We think he looks like a baby vampire.  This photo is the source of endless amusement in our house at the expense of Travis. :)
