Finally, Some Sleep!

We’ve migrated Alexander from our bed to his crib without much of a hassle. I thought this would be more difficult than it turned out to be.
Last Saturday we spent some time at Babies R Us and picked up some “baby sleep aids” including a mattress pad, a sleepytime bear and a rain forest music toy. The sleepytime bear is soft and comes with a sound machine that plays recorded sounds from the womb. It’s like white noise and helps keep Alex down while sleeping. The rain forest toy is neat. It sits inside the crib attached to the bars and Alex can control it with one button push. Push the button once and a Monkey, frog and fish move around the inside while it softly lights up and plays music. If Alex pushes the button again, it shuts off.
Saturday night we had everything put together for the crib and put Alex down at 8pm. He cried for 30 minutes and then crashed and made it through most of the night. The next night was better, with Alex going down without much of a fight. We are at a point now where Alex doesn’t really scream or cry when he is put into the crib, and he is sleeping through the night. It’s nice to have our bed back.

I’ve started my new job and I enjoy it. There is a lot to learn but I am working with great people that are making this a good learning experience. All of them have personalities that fit mine and I’m happy to be working with them.
