Xbox 360 Repair - Taking Forever

My second Xbox 360 died last month with the Red Ring of Death and it’s been out for repair since June 22nd.
The package arrived at the repair center in Texas on June 22nd, and today I finally get an email telling me that they are starting work on the repairs. That is 14 business days, excluding the 4th of July holiday.
So are they seriously telling me that my machine sat in their warehouse all this time before they even opened the box to start repairs? That my friends, is bullshit.
I have been a huge supporter of the original Xbox and Xbox 360 in the past, but this is the LAST console I purchase from Microsoft ever again.
