Baby Life - Week 30

Rolling.
Once Alexander figured out how to roll and wiggle around he has been in constant motion this week. I used to be able to lay him down and he would lay on his back playing with toys. Now it’s a non-stop vigil to make sure he isn’t rolling into something or getting stuck. It’s going to be really bad when he starts walking.
He is trying to crawl and I can see him concentrate hard while doing this. I feel sorry for him when I notice the frustration building up but that is part of learning and I remind myself to let him work it out. It’s easy to jump in and help, the hard part is letting him learn on his own.
We started feeding him the “meats” family of foods this week. Calling this stuff “meat” is being nice. It is pulverized slop and I can’t believe I am feeding it to my baby but the doctor says we need to do this. I’d be happy to just keep him on veggies the rest of his life. The meat-slop smells horrible going in and it’s even worse coming out. I thought prunes and apple juice were bad but whoa — meat aftermath is a whole new level of funk. This is the time where I start telling my wife the baby pooped rather than change him myself.
