Rolling, Teething and Solid Food

Posted on March 7, 2007 - Filed Under Baby Life, Life

Looks like Alexander is not done for this week when it comes to milestones.  Earlier this week he learned to roll from his stomach to his back which is a big deal for babies.  I had no idea that it was such an important step for a baby, after all, even dogs can be taught to roll over right?  RIGHT?  After a long lesson on why it is important for a baby to learn this skill I now have a new appreciation for how large a task this is for a newborn.

Turns out that rolling on his back was not enough, oh no, my children like to push the envelope and go for the big win.  Alexander is now making the transition to solid food!

We’ve started him with rice cereal in the mornings  and he loves it.  He ends up wearing half of it by the time he’s done, but that is part of the fun.  Next up? Green veggies.  Yuk!

Alex is also in full teething mode right now which means we have a drooling baby on our hands.  People go from fighting over holding the baby to passing him along as fast as possible before he drools all over everything you are wearing.  Wearing a bib is now a fashion statement for him, and I’ve found that always keeping a spit-up towel within reach is now a requirement.
