Baby Life - Week 3

I have returned to work this week after taking three weeks off for the birth of Alexander. Returning to work is a good and bad thing. It feels good to get back into my routine but it’s been tough. I had three weeks of backlog email to go through and lots of things to catch up on.
Alexander is doing great and there have been many changes for him the past week. His eyes are fully open and we really notice him tracking movement much better than last week. He is much more vocal now but only when he needs to feed or has a messy diaper.
He still sleeps most of the night usually waking up once or twice in need of a change. I guess I’m not the only one settling into a routine.
Alexander is already showing lots of movement with his head. When he hold him we need to be careful because he has a tendency to swing his head around quickly which causes us to lose our grip on him sometimes. It really catches you by surprise.
The dogs are getting better and understand that we have a new member of the “pack” that they need to accept. Niko is very protective and doesn’t like people outside of family members going near Alexander. This is something we need to work on with him because he shouldn’t be aggressive towards people inside of our home when we are not showing signs of distress. Comet still shadows Alexander 24/7 and must be near him at all times. He is curious and is just fascinated with Alexander.
The boys are doing fine but we had some trouble with Travis last week. He was assaulted by a couple of kids trying to steal his skateboard. I’ll write about that in detail later this week.

i haven’t been up on your site for over a week…wow…Baby is so cute, and looks lot like Travis too me.
All these new things you talk about, make me think of my own experiences with my own children…Go David ..i look forward to your Alexander news.
