Pregnancy Week 35

Welcome to week 35.
We are in the final weeks before the birth of our new son and things are moving too fast! It feels like we have a million things to finish or buy and only a small window of time to get things done. I guess you never really feel like you can be prepared and in my case, I honestly have no idea what to expect. It will be interesting.
Toni experiences lower tummy pain frequently now. These are sharp, dramatic pains that stop Toni in her tracks for a few seconds and really take her breath away. This is caused by the baby moving lower and pushing to make room.
I estimate that the baby will easily be in the 8lb range, pushing almost 9lbs and a long 22in. while Toni thinks he will barely crack 8lbs and be in the 20-21 inch range. Of course I’m pushing for bigger.
The nesting phase has started to kick in and Toni spends a lot of time in the nursery now. She is sorting clothes, putting items in place and generally making it a functional baby care assembly line.
We spoke at length yesterday about how different it is to have a child as an adult versus a teenager. When Toni had Sean she was young and didn’t have much money, her baby shower was non-existent, and there was help from her mother and that was about it. Fast forward to today and it’s the exact opposite. We have a nice home, a stable marriage, family and friends from both sides are helping out and it’s a totally different experience.
