Pregnancy Week 31

Posted on August 29, 2006 - Filed Under General, Life

Welcome to week 31.

Toni continues to swell and the baby continues to push and make things uncomfortable.  She tells me that he often has a foot stuck in her ribs, that he is pushing with force in the lower area, and that he is generally performing circus stunts in her belly causing some odd sensations.  Sometimes it is painful.  Despite all of this Toni is holding up well and she is taking care of herself.

The "look the baby just moved" game continues.  Every time we look for movement nothing happens.  The minute we turn away he the baby kicks or pushes and we miss it.  I’m convinced that he knows we are watching and is playing a game with us.  Probably not a good sign when your unborn son is already messing with you.

The next checkup is September 5th and is just a quick stop to measure her belly and check weight and urine for anything goofy.  It’s almost like a 10 minute quick lube and oil change.  No ultra sound images this time.

Still no name for the baby.  The pressure is starting to mount as the end draws near and I fear that we will never agree on a name.  It was much easier naming the dogs.
