Pregnancy: Week 26 x 2

Posted on July 24, 2006 - Filed Under Life

Note that I have reset this week to WEEK 26!  I had the correct week numbers all along, Toni messed her calendar up and told me that I was wrong, blah blah blah when it turns out she was the one who made a mistake.  Whoops!  Anyway… on to the real week 26 update!
What a long, hot week it’s been.

Temps have been at the 90+ degree range in Tacoma since last Thursday making it unpleasant for those without an A/C unit. We were smart and picked up a new unit a few weeks ago and it’s powerful enough to cool the entire upstairs and part of the lower area of the house. It sits in the window of our bedroom which is nice but that gave us an unexpected side effect… Toni has a cold.

It’s miserable enough being pregnant with morning sickness, the swelling, the growing pains, the added weight and all of the other “fun” stuff that comes with it. Add a summer cold caused by the A/C on top of it and that leads to an unhappy mom.

The boys have been helping a little extra during this time. Travis actually grabbed the lawn mower and attacked the front yard without being asked! I thought my chances of seeing Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster were better than seeing him mow the yard. Even more amazing is that he did this during the heat wave! Proud to see him take the lead on something when the rest of us are busy or sick.

Sean always helps out and he has been driving Toni around town now that he has his permit. I’m not ready to take the plunge and let him drive me anywhere, but I’m sure the day will come soon enough.

We spent Saturday at Silver Lake trying to fish but it was just too damn hot. The fish wont bite in that sort of weather so after a few casts of the line everyone ended up ditching the poles for a dip in the lake. The water was gross but it cooled everyone off.

We have a big day tomorrow with another doctor appointment. This is the day they test for gestational diabetes and we also get new pictures of the baby.
