What Do Geek Squad Technicians Actually Do? is asked on Slashdot today and the comments are brutal as you would expect.
My wife works part-time for the Geek Squad in operations (which means she is not a tech) and I’ve never asked her if the Geek Squad techs actually know how to fix things. I just assumed that they were your average level one type of techs that could perform system cleanup and OS reinstalls but the comments from Slashdot make me think that the Geek Squad basically sends customer machines out for repair, doing little work themselves.
